Why independent

Advice without an interest attached

Dealers are paid when machinery moves. That is not a criticism of dealers, and the good ones will tell you when a machine is wrong for you. It does mean that the advice arrives with an interest attached, and on a purchase of this size that is worth separating out.

No stock and no commissions

We do not sell machinery, broker finance or accept referral fees from anyone who does. The fee is the same regardless of the conclusion the analysis reaches.

Written and dated

Every engagement produces a document that can be provided to a bank, an accountant, a business partner, an insurer or an inspector.

A clear recommendation

Every report ends with a recommendation and the reasoning behind it, including where that recommendation is not to proceed.

Twenty years with the machinery, not only the brochures

My name is Ben Gillett. I have close to twenty years of experience in large scale cropping, feedlot and broadacre operations, and I work as a national technical specialist supporting agricultural machinery dealer networks across Australia and New Zealand.

That work covers both sides of the same machine. What it costs to run across a season, and what happens when it causes an injury. The Machinery Report was established because farmers, dealers and importers were asking for written answers on both, and there was no straightforward place to obtain them.

All analysis is prepared personally, based on your figures and your machines. Nothing is produced from a template with a different logo applied.
